Leon Brydon

Recovery Support Worker

Leon Brydon is a dedicated Recovery Support Worker at Holistic Recovery, embarking on a new and fulfilling career in the mental health field. With a diverse background that includes roles in the army and managing farms, Leon brings a unique perspective to his work, shaped by his experiences growing up in a small country town and his personal journey through a significant health scare three years ago. This pivotal moment taught him to focus on what truly matters and not to sweat the small stuff.

Leon is known for his kindness, patience, and acceptance, qualities that make him a compassionate and understanding support for both participants and colleagues. Outside of work, he cherishes spending quality time with his two children—affectionately called his “porkchops”—and his partner. His hobbies include mountain biking and hitting the gym, though he humorously admits to occasionally confusing ambition with ability on his rides. His kids often greet him with the question, “How many times did you fall off today, Dad?”

Leon appreciates the tremendous support and enthusiasm of the Holistic Recovery staff, which has made his transition into the role both smooth and rewarding. His love for sharing inspiring quotes (which his family claims are uniquely his own) and his down-to-earth nature make him a valued member of the team, committed to helping others achieve their recovery goals.
