Chris Troon

Support Coordinator / Psychosocial Recovery Coach

Chris is a seasoned professional with a rich history of dedication and service in disability support and community services. Over the past three years, Chris has worked as a Local Area Coordinator for the NDIS, followed by 13 months as a Caseworker for a government department. His extensive experience includes 11 years as a Disability Support Worker in group homes for ageing and disability care and in other disability support organisations. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Education in Social Science, a Certificate IV in Disability, and a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.

His professional ethos is grounded in empathy, compassion, integrity, teamwork, and the continuous development and coaching of others. Chris is a devoted family man, having been married for 28 years. He and his wife have two children, and he takes great pride in watching them perform in local theatre productions around Armidale. As a family, they cherish annual traditions such as attending the Tamworth Country Music Festival and taking family photos each autumn at Gotswyck Chapel. In his leisure time, Chris enjoys playing golf every Saturday. He is also an avid sports fan, particularly of Rugby League, supporting the Bulldogs and NSW Blues and following Supercars, with a preference for Red Bull Racing.

Having recently joined our team, Christopher is enthusiastic about working with participants and their families and helping them connect with local support through their NDIS plans. He looks forward to contributing to their psychosocial recovery journeys and building their confidence. Christopher’s extensive background and his empathetic and compassionate approach make him a valuable asset to our Holistic Recovery team.
